DDDFR has transitioned and is now caring for the ferrets with emotional and health issues and those in need of hospice care.
They will be staying with us (unless they get a foster home) until they pass.

This decision was made because there are so many sick ones that need a place to live out what time they have left, with dignity, lots of lovin’, plenty of clean linen, food, soup and recess time.

Caring for these precious fuzzies with health issues requires more vet visits, oodles of meds and some specialty foods ("dook soup") which are quite costly.
Donations (cash, gift cards, treats, food, etc) are gladly accepted.
If you need a tax receipt, please contact us at and we can give you the information.

We also have 2 vets which care for our furbabies. If you want to make a donation for vet care, please feel free to send $ to one of these vets. Thank you.

Sprinkles (our spokesferret) says: "Special needs ferrets are thankful for your help!!"

Sprinkles has a neurological disorder that is a lot like when humans have cerebral palsey. Her muscles freeze up and she has trouble moving from seconds to minutes. She has chiropractic treatment frequently which has helped her immensely. She also has adrenal disease and is getting Lupron shots monthly. She is a vibrant, fun-loving, sweet, playful girl that doesn’t let this problem-- caused by the abuse of her former owner -- get her down. She is a princess and lets us all know it.
